- Isolation of IVC on the medial side and cranially up to the hepatic veins
- Ligation and sectioning of the right adrenal vein
- Important to identify and isolate also left renal vein
- Vessel loops can be placed safely on the IVC, as the lumbar veins are clipped and sectioned
