Dissection of Toldt’s line and of the upper renal pole
- The line of Toldt is dissected with a combination of blunt and sharp dissection.
- The upper pole is mobilized with blunt and sharp dissection. The spleen is released.
Dissection of the lower renal pole and renal vessels
- The lower pole is mobilized with blunt and sharp dissection.
- The renal artery should always be prepared. The renal vein also prepared in the process of the preparing the renal hilum. The preparation of the renal artery allows its rapid detection and clamping in case of bleeding during the procedure.
